Just as we have blood running through our veins, essential oils run through the plant. Essential oils are extracted from various parts of a plant / tree, flowers, fruits, seeds, stem, leaves, roots, flowering tops etc. Depending on the source  plant, the oils are extracted in different ways.

Essential oils if properly preserved have a remarkable and unimitable effect on the human body and mind, when correctly used. Essential oils are an invaluable aid to relaxation, stress, relief, beauty care and to the improvement of health & well-being.

Certain essential oils, when blended, mutually enhance their respective powers. When such a level of potency is reached, we get what is called as synergy - the right blend of oils. A synergy is a blend that someone creates from various selected essential oils. Such synergies are more effective.

Essential oils are light and have a consistency like water. They are volatile, odorous and are not greasy. Though insoluble in water, they are soluble in alcohol, vegetable oils and ether.

When selecting oils for aromatherapy one should be
careful not to use synthetic oils, as we use essential oils for therapeutic purposes. Sometimes synthetic oils have mixed in them certain chemicals, which make them smell better than the natural essential oils and confuse our judgement of quality.

Fragrance oils are different from both of the above. They have in them mainly only fragrances and no therapeutic properties and are thus used for the sole purpose of fragrance and not for therapeutic healing.
